Thanks Iain. It sort of ended a question for us, as we'd been trying to decide if she would prefer a pen alone surronded by other geese, or if we should let Julia have her upstairs (and she wanted her badly) for an indoor goose pet. I've even allready ordered her diapers, but I'll just hang onto them for a future goose, odds are we'll need them eventually. I was sad to see her pass, but I was relieved that it would be unneccessary to stress her further by changing her pen and location. She's been a barn goose all winter.

I shall miss her, she was a very gentle and kind goose, who truly acted gratefull for the love and care and straw and all. You know what I mean.

Poor Julia! First Lucky and now Baby. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.... like maybe some dewlap hatching eggs or perhaps eggs from Chicory?

No eggs just now, but thanks anyway. I've got loads of them coming in. None from those silly africans yet, but I did finally see them standing in the pile of straw yesterday,

I think I'm going to do a special hatch with Julia. I will let her decide what eggs she wants. If she wants grays, I'll be talking to you of course.

Hope your whites get into gear soon! Are you seeing fertility with your yearling buff eggs? I have two pairs of greys, that are 2yo girls bred to yearling boys. I set my first test eggs from them this week but not sure if they will be fertile. But if they are fertile, I will have plenty of grey eggs.... just let me know!

I think we would love to have some grays, they were Julias favorite by far. She just loves the colors..... Go figure. We all want buffs and colors, and she loves monocromatic birds.

I havn't tested the buffs fertility yet. Thinking about making a quiche with the first few, but I might just set them. I'd have to wash another incubator though.
