We have a flock of 30 rir's & barred rock primarily for eggs which we sell.

We've just been offered 5 1-2 year old buffs. Can anyone tell me what these guy's egg production is like? As much as we love fluffy pet birds, we like everyone to earn their keep :)

I have two Buff Orpingtons (almost three years old) and they are quite consistent layers through winter (though egg production has slowed as they've gotten older; I'll have to see how they lay after they've finished molting). They tend to lay a medium-sized creamy or pinkish-brown egg almost every day. Good luck with your orpingtons!
