Buff Orpington Rant thread!

Buff Brahmas are pretty because they have the black on their neck and tail and are fluffy, I have two myself.

Those are my thoughts as well! 😊 Buff on its own is just... blah. It's an unpleasant color with nothing to add interest. Add just a little bit of some other color, like the black 'points' from Columbian patterns, and it improves immensely. Same with solid white for me, although I can tolerate solid white with slate shanks or dark skin better than with light skin and shanks.

Buff columbian is better than solid buff, but still not a huge fan. I don’t like large patches of buff.

Buff laced or buff cuckoo however…

Notice I said 'improves' and not 'becomes beautiful'. 🤣

Buff laced is beautiful, though! 😍 Buff cuckoo depends a lot on how well the barring comes through for me. I've seen some hens that just look like Buff unless you look closely enough to see the faint barring. 😬

Too many roosters is like a constant state for me anymore. 🤣 To be fair, I have some listed for sale, just no one in my area wants them... Except some sketchy dude that definitely was going to eat them. 🥺 Any other roosters and I'd have been like sure, saves me the trouble, but it was the English Orp boys they were asking for and I just can't knowingly let those sweet puffballs go to someone's freezer.

Erik. Some sort of hybrid hen. She is ridiculous.
