But if I wanted that look, I may as well just get a Cochin šŸ˜‚
Can’t argue with that.

Though personally I like LF Orps better than LF Cochins. Bantam Cochins are the best floofy nuggets though.
I guess that makes sense. Idk. I like some of the ā€œrealā€ Orps but that one just looks weird.
Colt’s are the best.

Hmmm true! The fluffy feet on the standards are a little weird but cute on banties LOL

And yeah his are gorgeous!

I feel like Hatchery Orps should be considered like an entirly different breed. Because they are NOTHING like Orpingtons, and have strayed so far away from the standard. But I don’t think they should stop breeding them, because there are people like @TheDawg who genuinely like them.

But if they did that with Orps they’d have to do it with other breeds too, Barred Plymouth Rocks are another example, they have gone so far from standard. But people do like the look of them, like I personally like the hatchery ones better than heritage Plymouth rocks, but they aren’t ā€œPlymouth Rocksā€ anymore. They are ā€œHatchery Plymouth Rocks.ā€

They are like a whole different breed.

Just me thinking out loud. I know probably not realistic AT ALL.

Nah, you make a lot of sense. They do look completely different imo.

You would have to do that with every breed though cause none of the hatchery breeds are what they are supposed to be. And I think most people know that going in. They just want them for production or because they’re cheap and easy to get or whatever it is and don’t really care about looks. Or some people do get them on purpose hah
