Yes, We had a RIR... she was very sweet, and laid lots of eggs though. Sadly she died a month or two ago, from possibly cancer.

Sadly, most of the ones I owned died similarly, cancer or internal laying. I don't buy high-production hatchery strains like them, red sexlinks, or Leghorns anymore because of this.

The only Rhode Island red I like is a bantam

I like anything as a bantam

Well, unless it's solid buff colored

buff orpingtons are gross. I don't even like the English ones. They are too fat. I like small skinny birds that actually have pretty markings
