Mine’s not old enough to brood, so I wouldn’t know. But I can say so long as I have bantam cochins I won’t ever trust an orp to be a mom, there’s no reason to.

My BO hen passed 3 months ago to the day, but she never once went broody in her 2 years of existence. However, her sickly, barely-laying, younger Dominique sister has gone broody 3 times and was nearly impossible to break.
Each one is an individual.
