Emma, if you love broodies that much, you would adore my silkied Red Cochin girls. The three of them are going on 2 months solid of being broody now with no indication of stopping any time soon. Not even exaggerating. They sit in broody jail out in the chicken yard, nowhere near any nests or shelter, surrounded by the other chickens, and just brood dirt and glare at everyone. The brats. 🤭 They're lucky they're so cute.

Yeah bantam cochins are ridiculous, I had a girl brood for like three months straight, I could not break her. The only reason she stopped is she literally brooded herself to the verge of death.

They really are! I thought Silkies were supposed to be the worst for being broody all the time, but these Cochin bantams put them to shame!

I expect my girls will quit right around the time they go into molt in a month or two. That's how they did it last year, anyway. Good thing I'm not a huge fan of eggs, either.
