It is a sickness isn't it? I read your post aloud to my hubby & he laughed & said "Oh the poor guy" cause we all know we wear them down...... And I have to tell you when you get a Buff Orpington chick that is a day old it is so small it is like incredible! the pic of the chick on my profile is one of mine straight out of the box it came home here in. They truly look like the sugar peeps at Easter/spring. They're just adorable! And so maybe that'll be your angle next spring a easter gift or mothers day etc. LOL

I was talking to my husband when I was reading your post. I busted out laughing. I had to read him my post and then your post. He said, "at least somebody feels bad for me."

My poor honey.

He'd like the Buff's just as much as he likes our other girls. He was down in the basement talking to our chicks when they were in the brooder. He did tell me to spoil those chicks because I wasn't getting any more for a very long time. We will see...

Ok well here's another laugh for you & some food for thought for your hubby....

I'm a bit of a real girl & I don't like to touch bugs & so it's always hubby that gives those little extra yummies to the chicks & he's always been the one to do this & so now when the man enters the back yard he's 1st got the bigger 4 month old Black Austrolorp RACING across the yard to him..... & THEN there is a GROUP of *chicks* just crowding the screen door to their run area trying to get at him & so how many men get to say they've got CHICKS knocking themselves over to get tothem when they get home from work??? & notice how it's hubby talking to them?? It's not hard to talk them into just a couple more... Because what the heck difference does it make it's just a couple of chicks right? LOL I'm sorry I'm still on the "talking him into more" thing. LOL I was on a roll at the time & it's hard for them to say no when they see them too. And the Buff Orpingtons???? ohmygosh they are just TOO SWEET. I'll have to get my pics of them in the box they were SO small I'm not kidding they were the size of those little sugar peeps we eat out of the Easter baskets in spring. justt too cute & sweet. We were talking about names tonight & I'd told hubby I was thinking of the Rooster & calling him Buff Serious because he's as serious as a heart attack when it comes to his duties. Too cute.

I have 3 BO's and I have to say that other than my EE's, they are my favorite chickens. They have been so sweet and loving since the beginning. Lottie, my Rooster Hen, always hops up on me or squats to be rubbed and of course, then picked up. Alice and Rosalie are the quiet ones in the background, but still very sweet. They are loud but great layers so far.

These were from May of this year. They are now 6 months old and big beautiful girls. I need to get some pics of their fluffy butts 'cause I just think they are so cute!

My poor Sarah needs a pair of panties! She is the sweetest, happiest bird, despite her cheeky bum. Poor thing. She's been like this for so long now and seems in good health. I'm not sure what to do about it.

I will say that she hasn't laid an egg in a couple of weeks, but I suspect she may be mourning the loss of a rooster she was very close with.

I have a coop with RIR and Barred Rock hens, and one buff orpington- my nephew named her goldylocks and she's the sweetest, shiest of the group. She isn't very vocal and tends to hang back a bit...until she sees any kind of treat in your hand and then she's the first to jump on your lap and steal it out from under the other girls!
