I have a 11 month old buff that I need help sexing. I am hoping it’s a boy but not sure someone played and egg and it is housed with my 3yr old pilgrim female and both have been on camera by the nest where egg is found and neither sit long enough to tell who played the egg.

I don’t have ducks, but the drakes usually have a curled tail (I think). Also females quack loudly while drakes have a raspier voice.

The call the buff does is way louder than my pilgrim and will chase/bite my chickens or ducks away from her when she’s eating.

My female goose will do this too.

My ganders are way louder than my goose.

I also have White Chinese geese though so that might make a difference.

How does your goose normally act towards you?

I also think it looks like a male. My buff gals have really prominent lobes that hang down between their legs. Lobes aren’t always the most accurate way to tell sex, but this time of year I’d say it’s more accurate

Thank you all for your help unfortunately my lovingly named Hagrid buff is a female I received 2 different sized eggs on Saturday and today. I’m guessing odds are my pilgrim would lay 2 different sized eggs 2 out of 3 days
