Building My First Coop

Pics
Oooh that’s a fancy setup! In color, too. Not at all bad for $35. What brand, can you post a link? My coop is about 100 feet from the house and the wifi is pretty weak back there, don’t know if it will be good enough, but maybe I’ll give it a try and return it if it doesn’t pick up the signal.

Yes , daytime video is color , night vision goes to black & white automatically . Here is a link to the Pan Cam

They have a standard cam that I will be putting in the run tomorrow , I got an aftermarket outdoor housing for it on Amazon . Here's the link for the standard cam

Amazon does sell them too , if you think you may possibly need to return one Amazon is probably your best bet , they are a bit more money on Amazon but if you are a Prime member it evens out .

"Wyze hasn't created a desktop app"...
...and I'm using Win7(I told you I'm a luddite).

Do you have an IPhone or an Android smart phone or tablet . Thats the thing with the Wyze cams , they will not work with a PC or laptop , downloads and pictures can be emailed or directly uploaded to youtube so you can get your photos or videos to a PC .

Nope. Shocker, eh?
Cell service here stinks, even if I could afford those toys.
Landline with no caller ID or any other goodies....just glad the DSL is pretty good.

Your best bet if you wanted to go this route would be to get a lower priced android tablet , there are decent tablets out there for under $50 . With a standard Wyze Cam you'd have video capability in the coop for $75 or less including a tablet .

Don't you also need some kind of cell service or will video go right to tablet storage?

Nope , you don't need cell service , you can store on the device storage or micro sd card that you can add to the camera , or rolling cloud storage(but that is temporary) . I have an old Google Nexus tablet and the Wyze app and camera works fine with it . What's needed with Wyze is either Iphone operating system or Android operating system and internet connection . You could even use an old or new smart phone without phone service as long as it was connected to internet via wifi .

Got the other Wyze Cam mounted on the coop to view the run , this is a stationary camera .
