Thanks I spent two days working on it but I think it came out great.Well TexasSam, I think it looks great. congrats. proves the point that you don't need a bunch of money to have cool chicken digs. Hope others see this and are inspired.
I left some spots open at the peek and A few open at the overhangs plus there are small gaps between most of the boards. I will seal all the lower stuff to prevent drafts in the winter. This is A quarantine coop for now and I will use it for raising chick and their mother laterNice job..... what is the ventilation situation? Any plans to add a window or two?
Nice! That's an adorable coop!
great job there and super redo of good wood better than most digs nicely done
Thank you guys a lot for the compliments I have to admit I was A little proud of it it looks like an old shack I might hang some signs on it for decoration. I plan on sealing up most of the cracks with silicon but leave some open near the top to ventMom and babies should be very happy and proud of their home.
I like the rustic look good work. It looks very sturdy but still could be moved with not too much extra effort. Especially like the wise investment in hardware cloth. It would need a few extra touches to survive my Canadian climate. From this view I am thinking interior cleaning may pose a problem which could easily be remedied by a hinged panel on the side or back. The fact that it is elevated will discourage vermin and most predators. The extra height will also make scooping the litter into a wheel barrow much easier. I think you know what you are doing and it is not your first "Rodeo".I was able to put my old fence to some new good
Yes, me too. That weathered timber looks really nice. Good one.I like the rustic look
