Bully breeds - share your dogs!

Just found some pictures of my girl Sprockette in her last year. She was my girl.

Mastitis... Was NOT her friend. It didn't help us trying to save her that last year.

Squirrel!

She always had a youthful look about her. Even in the last few months you couldn't see her age.

Looking at all the bully's everyone has posted has brought me to tears...I so miss my sweet Rowdy licking my face awake as if saying "Morning Mom, what we doin' today?" Beautiful dogs in body and spirit..

Well there's shelters around here that are begging people to take bully breeds.

There was an adoptathon or some such where adult fully veted dogs/cats (any breed) were $20 and anyone on death row was less... the puppies and kittens were $40 As I recall.

Human Society Jacksonville and Pit Sisters both adopt them out.

They tried to adopt a law here that they would euthinize any bully breed that was brought into the animal control for any reason, no waiting period. Lots of people complained about it, and it didn't get voted in. There's a big fighting group in the next town and they like to abandon their dogs in our town.

that'll be BSL (breed specific legislation)... a lot of opposition on it, but most places just go through with it...

Plenty of causes in facebook trying to reverse some of them.

Our Pit came from a shelter in Ontario where there is BSL and he was destined to die. The shelter vet shipped him to Alberta where most communities from Calgary and south are Pit-friendly. We fostered this boy and couldn't give him back.

If you are looking to adopt, try www.petfinder.org and you'll find what you are looking for and not too far away.
