Bumble foot in duck

Thanks! So dosage for Waterfowl is higher than for chickens correct?
Actually, that is the dose for chickens and other poultry too. Not sure where the other dose people recommend came from. :idunnomaybe someone extrapolated the chicken dose from the cattle dose. :idunno

LOL I don't know. Most all the info I have (it's probably outdated) for chickens is 1/4-1/2ml daily for 3-5 days.

Poultry DVM states 1/2ml daily for 3-5 days for wound infections. Orally 3cc for Cholera and 50,000iu/kg for Waterfowl:confused:

I have not looked at the Plumbs Vet Drug Manual in a while....

I just re-read that. Does it really say that? If it does say that, I just gotta say that my vet told me years ago that injectable penicillin is one of the injectable that shouldn't be given orally because it's not absorbed well if given orally.

Maybe I read it wrong!? I wondered about giving that much orally as well. It's interesting they don't even have Cholera or Pasteurellosis listed in the diseases section.
