So yesterday I found my hen fluffy limping, I checked her foot and I wrapped it a bit. Today I gave her an Epson salt soak, and then I decided to give her a little bath too. Well I couldn't find a Bumble and so I'm looking for help with that buttt, when I was drying her I found Mites or lice I'm not sure. I haven't checked the rest of my flock yet but I assume they must have it too. If the pictures aren't clear enough they look almost like fleas except their white and pink/orangeish. I didn't see any on her legs or feet, but they where all over her vent area. If anyone can tell me what to do about both situations I would be very grateful. As well as any way to prevent these things.

Are her scales on legs and feet lifting up rather than smooth and flush? If so, she could have leg mites and they can be painful and cause limping.

The treatment for scaly leg mites is soaking the legs and feet and then scrubbing the scales to wash away as many mites as possible, then coating with a thick layer of petroleum jelly or castor oil.

For lice on the body, get permethrin poultry dust and rub it into the feathers on the butt, neck, and wing pits. Treat again in a week or so.

To prevent these parasites, keeping coop and run as clean as possible will help, but the best treatment is frequent inspections of your chickens and treating as soon as you see an infestation.

Not trying to be snarky, but it would be good if you can stay with just one thread. You now have 3 going and all of them have replies.
Here's links to the other 2. You have some good suggestions on all of them. Hopefully you will be able to treat your hen and she will get better. Good luck.

Hi, thank you and sorry about that. Originally I had the first one about her limping, but made the one about the bugs and Bumble for extra help on what to do. I also didn't mean to make two of these threads and I'm not sure how it happened. I wrote the first one and added images then uploaded it and quickly swiped out of the app so I'm thinking it might of glitched and when I found out I accidentally made two I couldn't figure out how to delete the other.

You're just brand new here, so you're learning how to navigate. Help is always just a click away. Do you see the word "Report" in the lower left corner of each message window? That is the "bat signal" that goes directly to our site moderators. Click on that and it allows you to ask for any help you need. The moderators can remove a thread that you don't want or they can even combine all three of your threads, making one out of them.

Making more than one thread on a subject actually will get you less responses than sticking to one thread, and threads can become quite rich with a variety of ideas from a lot of people. Some threads can grow into hundreds of pages and span a period of several years. Those end up being among the most helpful and informative due to the vast knowledge and experience they can represent.

No worries. Sometimes it can be glitchy.
I hope you are able to treat her feet and get rid of the bugs.
Keep us posted.
