Bumble Foot??

It may take several soaks before the core loosens enough for it to be pulled. Work the edges first - where the skin meets the core. It would be good if you slathered her foot in some Neosporin - that'll help soften it between soaks. Makes sure it's the Original formula WITHOUT pain relief. The kind with pain relief can kill them.

Okay thanks

Ok, here are some pictures to make your own booties. It wouldn’t take too long and you could probably hot glue them if you don’t have a needle and thread.

Get 2 coozies out of the drawer that everyone stuffs them in.:gig

You will want to cut them in a shape similar to this. Thanks @onaharley for the photos.:highfive:

I would keep them almost as wide as the coozie for an adult.

Then sew here as well as down the sides.

You could leave it like that, then just put them on your ducks feet and vet wrap over it. Or you could get some self stick Velcro and sew on the ankle part to keep them on better.

It would cost a couple bucks total.

@CayugaJana !
Would you please post this as an article or as an independent post with a title of making booties so it could easily pop up on a site search?
It would be helpful to many.

Sorry I am later to posting/reading through this thread....As i am doing soaks nightly on 4 ducks. This is a ton of work that will take months to clear up.

Here is my ducks bumble foot. I took my boy to the vet and they gave me antibiotic and inflammatory meds - orally for 18 days. I have been soaking his feet since Memorial day weekend. The vet said because the tissue around the black spot is soft and pliable there would be no need for surgery. We believe there is no pulg and that It is mostly just on the surface of the pad so just nightly soaks are all that is needed. It's working but it's a slow process.

I make sure that the pen is cleaned up before i do the soaks, this way when they are done soaking and the meds have been applied to the webs they have - for a moment - a nice clean spot and locked up for bed. I only do soaks once a day.

You will want to get DMSO from tractor supply (it's found in the horse section, $12.00) it is an antibacterial liquid that can be applied after the soaks 3 times a week - PER THE VET DO NOT USE THE DMSO MORE THEN 3 TIMES A WEEK. Also, you CAN NOT use Clear Iodine when using the DMSO. These are chemicals that do not get along if mixed. If you are going to do daily soaks i suggest doing the DMSO on Monday Wednesday and Fridays, And doing the clear iodine on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

if you choose to wrap the foot i suggest that you make something that will left the bumble off the ground. for example; cut the end of a pool noodle off and place the bumblefoot in the circle part, then warp the vet wrap around it. this will keep the pressure off the bumble to allow easier/less painful healing. here is a link that shows a picture of what i am talking about.
