Wow I am very impressed with you ladies! I really hope I never have to do the surgery!
I am glad your chicken is doing so well technodoll. How did you allow free range with the bandage and no other chicken pecking at it?
And I really hope your chicken as the same results Kanga! Gotta go sit outside and try and get a video of my little roo trying to crow.

I am currently treating a girl with the Tricide-Neo. I first soak her foot in a warm solution of epson salt for ten minutes. I then soak it in the Tricide-Neo for five to seven minutes. For the Tricide-soak I pour about 1/2 cup in a baggie and place her foot in it then hold it closed so that I am not constantly having to keep her foot in a cup or saucer. I then smeer on a peanut butter consistancy mix of sugar and Betadine and wrap it all up. I am doing this daily. I will let you all know how this works out.

The "vet wrap" was a sort of brown color and the duct tape strips (to make it waterproof) were silver, maybe they are not colors that attract pecking... my girl pecked at her foot about two times and then that was it. It's amazing how fast she healed once the abscess was popped!
