I noticed this morning that one of my sweet duckies has what looks to be bumblefoot.

There seem to be varying bits of advice on how to treat this.

What is the best way (preferably without scalpels!) to treat this?

Also, do I need to wrap her foot and how do I do this?

@Miss Lydia - you've helped so much in the past, do you have any advice?

Thanks!

ugh..so I check all four of my ducks and it looks like each of them have it to some varying degree :(

It’s not an over night fix. But if you work on it by soaking in warm Epsom salt water. To help soften up the scabs and use clear iodine to help bring the bumble to the surface you can probably take care of it yourself. The one with the worse you might want to take to the vet if you have the means to do it then you can work on the ones that aren’t so bad.

They have to have that core of infection usually I can only see the one of yours that looks like it’s progressed pic 7,8,9. 11,12,13 look to have bumble. Are they same duck ?

That's a lot of work but the milder cases you may get healed by soaking and just putting something like Manuka honey or triple antibiotic ointment on them then wrapping . No swimming while wrapped. The ones where there is significant swelling soak and use the clear iodine until you can easily pull off the scab with out tearing healthy skin then you'll need to use sterile tweezers to get the bumble out it's thick not runny like us humans. Might take a week. Once you get the bumble which is the infection then use manuka honey or triple antibiotic ointment and wrap try and keep it wrapped a few days then look again to make sure no more pus has accumulated it will probably take a week till new skin covers the hole. I just treated a chicken and she had pretty good swelling I peeled off the scab and the core[bumble came right out with it] that's always good too. I tell you who is expert on Bumbles in ducks is @onaharley
