Bumblefoot in a Silver Appleyard duck

Pics
Your duck is adorable:love looks very similar to one of my silver appleyard girls, Pocket.
Hope she gets well soon, good luck!
:pop I don't suppose you've got any pictures of her? We love pictures.

@BantyChooks , wow, great job!
Thanks! I'll get pictures of her foot when I change the bandage tonight & we'll see what it looks like. :fl Much better, I think---there was at least a tablespoon and a half of liquid in there. I soaked most of a gauze pad mopping it all up.

WOW. I didn't know a duck foot would swell up like that. Our Pekins started limping from sores on their feet when the swimming water was not adequate enough. The feet healed up when I made sure they had enough water in their pools (I think that was it). I'm happy to see a Silver Appleyard. I couldn't get any miniature Appleyards so I just ordered a pair of Bluehead Australian Spotted. The Pekins are too large for us and the drake too aggressive. I guess he thinks he is a goose.

Their feet definitely stay in better condition when they've got swimming water, but unfortunately that's not going to happen this time of year. The thermometer agrees with me, lol. I'm glad your littles were okay!

Her foot looks okay today. I do think I did get out all of the pus. It's quite warm still—here's hoping the antibiotics will clear that up. :fl

I am out of Epsom salts or I would have done a soak.

Idk.... but keep them soaks going. There may be a possibility but it would surface on it own from the soak :idunno which would be easier to remove....
Would what surface? Any pus?
I don't think I left any but I worry about more building up. :barnie
