Bumblefoot, no scab, swelling isn't reducing, trying everything, what now?

my duck had a recent leg injury and i have no vet near me to see him but i had called my sisters goat vet who is about 2 hrs maybe more away from me.. now my duck has an infection in his leg so he said that if i had any meds for lyme disease and or amoxicillan of my own that i can give to get the infection out i have been giving mine my amoxacillan and its only been 3 days and he went from almost dead to feeling a lot better so if you happen to have that take apart the capsule and divide the powder in half put inside some whole grain bead ( you will need about 4 pieces and you will more than likely have to open his/her mouth and put it in piece by piece so they get it all and do that for 7 days...hope your precious ducky feels better.. oh and i would take the duck inside and keep it warm so he/ she doesnt go down hill... i have mine in a tote in my bathroom with a heat lamp on him

We're on page 8 of this story now, that post was from over a month ago.

My vet said specifically not to give my duck amoxicillin orally because it risks upsetting gut bacteria -- apparently it's better if that is administered as a shot. She's been on two different antibiotics now, and after I finish this last round we'll find out if she'll lose the toe or not. I hope your journey to recovery is faster than mine! Moral of the story: Don't wait til it gets bad to start treating it. Bone infections are real.

I wasn't accusing, I was speaking from my own experience -- we waited a few weeks because my husband is more reluctant about bringing a duck to a vet, and because of that we're dealing with a bone infection instead of something less complicated.

I have a family crisis going on right now so I'm distracted and not sleeping. So this morning I accidentally gave Mally two 25mg Hydroxyzine pills instead of 2 antibiotic pills. Freaking out right about now. I emailed the vet.
