Bumblefoot surgery Update - RIP Duckie :(

Thanks! I am with you. I definately wish there was a reference with all the noted stages; mild to the most severe. Also the ones that don't follow the textbook.

Tbird84, maybe we could encourage some well-organized, detail-oriented soul on BYC Duck Forum to compile and solicit information and photo's for just such a resource. That would be immensely useful!

Most definately! I know that would have made me feel better. I have never had to deal with bumblefoot before. In fact, I had never seen it until this poor duck fell in my lap. A guide like that would make me, and I am sure others, feel more confident that we are proceeding properly.

I know it's been awhile since there was an update. I've had alot of things going on around here. Well, my little duck got taken out the other night by our Mini Bull Terrier. Husband forgot to put him on the tie-out lead and he climbed the fence and killed my duck. Maybe it was for the best. He also had a wry neck. It got a little better with Poly-vi-sol and Niacin, but not much. All day he would just pace by my Muscovy pen because he wanted to be with the hens. That's all he did. So...at least I learned about Bumblefoot. I still feel bad for the poor guy. I just wish the folks who had him before had cared for him better to begin with. Oh well.

Just drives me crazy that I haven't any problems with predators yet, but I have to lookout for my own darned dogs.
