Elegant
It's not perfect, however, I swore I'd finish it today and accept whatever level of imperfection and rushedness it had
I've never drawn a peacock before and you can see that while I understand how to draw a head the tail was an entirely different beast
I do feel like I understand how it works more now that I've practiced
If I ever desire to draw one again

Wow! That is a gorgeous peacock!! :love :love

Instead of the actual painting I wanted to do, I took advantage of my digital art hyper fixation this evening 😶 I'd keep going on it but I've got to get to bed and I was supposed to be studying

Turacos look like muppets. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Yeah. And they can synthesize their own red and green pigment using copper. They are the only birds that can produce green pigment.
Other green birds have melanin and carotenoids combined with structural color.
But structural color is super cool. No, it isn't green pigment but yes the bird is actually green. Color is just how our eyes perceive light and if the light being reflected to our eyes is green due to refraction that doesn't mean the bird isn't green.
"But blue birds aren't blue!" Well actually... If the color you see is blue they are blue. And they are black in shadow.
All birds are black if there's no light to see regardless of pigment.
