Did you at least go out to eat seeing as you were all gussied up?

No. We actually went to the local hardware store to get a fluorescent light bulb. I went in, hubby sat in the car. He didn't want to go in, "looking all weird."

Have you made plans on where you'd like to go?

Being unable to travel is the only downside to having chickens, for me. I will be missing a friend's wedding out in Colorado this October because I don't have a chicken sitter.

I want to visit my MIL in NS.

When I was about 7 my cat left me the head of a mouse by the side of my bed. I found it by stepping on the gooey side with my bare feet. I think I gave my father a heart attack when I started screaming at the top of my lungs.

I stepped on a tropical fish once in bare feet!

Well, how ridiculous is this! Hubby got the text about the funeral. He forwarded it to me. We BOTH read it as being today, August 12. (The man died on Aug 5th, so it made sense...?)

We got all gussied up, drove an hour out to the church. It is NEXT Monday! We both read the same text. Came to the same conclusion.


We know where it is now, anyway...

We went foraging for food in Olympia today 3 store in like 2 hours.
We do not shop we go in with list get it, get out.
Going to dinner at Nacho's Mexican tonight.

Yeah, a nice day. Would rather not have spent 2+ hours getting nothing accomplished, but oh well.

Good morning from Trixie & Pepper y'all. I've had coffee with the 9 o'Flock and my Fibro Pepper is greeting the day with a little muffled crow. Throwing it's head up and everything. I'm wondering if such a geneticly altered bird would do that and still be female. I will check for spurs before I panic.

Actually, I can't say we accomplished nothing. We got the replacement bulb, and on the way home, we saw that the local museum is having their "open house" fund raiser this Friday as we sat at the red light. Hubby said, "Hey, that sounds kind of interesting. I'd like to go." So we're looking into getting tickets.

We wouldn't have learned about the event if we hadn't been there at the light. We wouldn't have been there if we hadn't gone to the funeral a week early.

This is a much better frame of mind to have than to say the day was wasted.
With the way my life has been the last several years, I learned to be very flexible and always find the silver lining on the cloud.
