Margie, that sounds horrible and down right scary! I always worry about the livestock in those situations, you just hope they can be found and returned home, some don't do well without their "humans" around.

Scott- I knew Phil would come out for the pie! He's actually close enough he could have a real piece! I've got half a pie left. Everybody only wanted a really small piece. I gave my dad a pretty big one to take home though! And I suppose I can run a couple pieces down to my uncle...

Have a great day everyone!

Morning M Wiggles,
Half of that pie still in the pan

That never would have happened if I was within 1 state of you

Scott (who's wondering about FedX overnight and would I find an empty box when it got here)

You haven't been around much lately. Weather finally warm enough to be busy?

I have been really busy....not doing a bunch of posting....but summers here are short so i got to hustle while i can. It won't be long and I'll be allowed right down again.

So my cousin just called me. They have been running tests on her 8 month old boy since birth trying to figure out what he is allergic to, finally figured out he is deathly allergic to penicillin. So allergic that when his mother ate antibiotic treated meat he was getting sick from her milk.
She cannot raise chickens where she lives so it looks like I am going to do more chickens then I had planned. Looks like a great excuse anyway :D

Well get going.....raise some of those good home grown chickens.

Can I have the crust?

Dang that's some of the best stuff right there....

Phil!, It's good to see you! I was about to ask M. Wiggles if Little Lake had burned up or something.
Take care and don't be a stranger!
Scott

Still here Scott....just the busy season....

I figured as much, just don't be so busy you do yourself damage ;)
Yes I told her I would get a batch of Cornish Cross going. Should make her help me process but she was raised much more sheltered then I was, so we will see if that happens.

My in laws helped me one year processing cockerels. FIL wouldn't even be in the area. But grandma was so excited, it reminded her of her childhood. And afterwards, I boiled some feet for her to nibble on. She was so happy! But FIL just sat there pouting the whole time and for several days after.

Yes my FIL took the feet from the last batch of birds I did. I wasn't going to work them, but I told him he was welcome to them. I am fortunate DH helps alot on processing day. He always does the initial deed. I can kill them, but he does a much cleaner, quicker, job then I do, so I really appreciate that.
.... The "several days after" boggles my mind a bit :/
