Krista, good luck with the move.

Oh! That garden gate is beautiful. Makes me wish I had a garden!

Krista- I have been living out of boxes for the last three years! And some stuff has been packed away for almost ten....waiting ever so patiently for this new house. I figure by the time I finally get to unpack everything it will be like Christmas.

Raining and dreary here today, but DH wants to burn some brush, so it's a good day for that. Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Hubby and I finished my garden gate.
We used marbles this time.
My camera had a goofy memory chip, so I will have to get one finished and up.

I love it also! Are the leaves wood? I do have an old wooden door (a "house", now my woodworking building) was moved onto my property by a prior owner. It was moved from my city's downtown area, apparently it was early 1900's and they wanted to preserve it. Its a cute little thing. I guess it has now turned into my chicken/duck storage area for feed and supplies though, since I don't get to do much woodworking any more. But it had an old door on the front that we took off, similar looking to yours. I saved it though. Its huge, but I bet I could cut it down and do something similar. Thanks for the inspiration!

Packing... boxes... ugh!! I moved a little over 2 years ago and still have things in boxes too. When we moved, it had been 6+ years in the prior place, so anything that was still in a box from that move got tossed! If I haven't opened the box in 6 years, I must not need it. Now its getting close to where I can do that with the currently boxed stuff LOL Except... my mother moved out west and left all her stuff with me, so a lot of my boxes contain her stuff. She passed away last year, and I still haven't had the heart to go through it all. Its in the garage... not doing any harm... I'll get to it some day.

WVduckchick, I cut out the leaves with the jigsaw, and as I was picking them up off the floor because the dog was chewing on them I set them on the gate and liked it, so I stained them green and added them.
For the next gate, I will save the butterfly and lizard bits and use them too.

Every time I see my mother-in-law she apologizes for all the boxes of stuff she has for me to go through, she has not gone through her mother's things yet. She died 35 years ago.

at least she is prepping me for it.

People give us stuff and say,"Now don't throw that out!"
I did not ask for a box of old sweaters. It's Florida, I wear a sweater maybe five times a year.

It is a real problem.
Now, my son's friends parents are dropping things off at my house and telling me, ''don't throw this out."
"Well, then you better take it home with you because I don't want it."
" No, you keep it -just don't throw it out."
