My son's suggestion was a backhoe and one of those self storage boxes.
My suggestion was just throwing it out.

But why can't they do that?
Why must they even include me?

,,,because I make gates out of trash. well, duh.
So that's what clever gets ya.

I get all the junk too. My son left yearbooks, regular books, other stuff. I put some in a flat rate box to mail to him. But it's $ 20, and too small to hold much. I told him I'd love to send him some stuff but couldn't afford it. I told him I needed $ 20. He didn't bite but, I also don't think he expects what I would send him.

My brother doesn't have a basement, at least a couple times a month he brings me shipping boxes from internet stuff and appliances. I'm supposed to hold the boxes until the warranty is up. I don't want them !!! Now and then I go through the spider web covered stuff and throw out the oldest boxes. They keep growing back.

I also get regular boxes with packing peanuts (not cockerels) and those air baggy things and such. He thinks I need them. I have a whole range of USPS boxes priority mail and flat rate. I DO NOT NEED MORE. Maybe 2-3 times a year I send out stuff. When you order free stuff from the PO, they come in 10's so if you want a variety of sizes, you end up with 40-50 boxes,. I do NOT need more boxes. You are not supposed to use USPS boxes for anything else.

Okay. I have to rant a second. Why? Cause I can.

So. I moved to California from Alberta (Canada) last summer...beginning of July. Got married to my hubs in August, got my employment authorization in November and SSN end of December, both of which I needed to get a Cali drivers license.

Except they changed the rules beginning in January that you didn't need to prove residency to get a drivers license. Oh joy. Dmv's got back logged with immigrants and insanity happened. I shrugged, decided to keep driving on my Alberta license and wait for things to die down.

Then we moved. That put off booking appointments a bit. I got distracted by some other things...finally try again to book an appointment online. Nope. Can't do it. Have to call. Wait on hold an hour. (Should be grateful it was only an hour!) to make the appointment.

Guess what. June 30th. There is more than a month out.

Granted, they're scum and making me retake all the tests, since we Canadians obviously don't know how to drive...too used to our skidoos and dog sleds I guess.

But ugh. Now I gotta wait over a freaking month.

Yet they want you to get your license switched over within 15 days of getting residency. ahahahahahhahahahhahaha.

Dear Alberta registries. I miss you. I love you. You were so good to me.

Sigh.

I've never driven .

I take the senior bus. Now one of our drivers is out for rotor cuff surgery tomarrow. Healing is a mighty long process and he is old enough to retire. That will leave our Township with one full time driver and one part time. ( we used to have 3 full timers). The township will not hire another full timer because of the cost for
medical insurance. They are having two part timers being trained as I write this. We are down to one dispatcher - she will retire in August.

SO one of the part timers has to become a dispatcher. The other will be a bus driver. We have 3 routes and 17 different towns that are served. Shades, of the WH here.

And here I was complaining that I had 3 months to switch over to ACT plates...

Hummm, not much to say. I went for an 8 mile ride on the horse today. Thought I would get the edge off of him in prep for a round-up tomorrow, however, weather has put a hold on that plan. Guess I am stuck fixing the dryer now that the part came in and I might have some chicks hatch under a broody.
Guess it will be a coffee day tomorrow.

I've only been on a horse twice - once when I was 6 years old, for about 10 minutes, and later when I was 10 after begging my father to let me go on one of those 'trail rides' in which some instructors round up a bunch of kids during the holidays and walk, very slowly, down a trail. Always wanted a horse but the overprotective 'rents never really let me near them!
