BYC Café

Morning! Cloudy and light sprinkles here. DS@ and DH out hunting this am, we shall see. I am on the phone with a slightly unstable neighbor, who fell and "broke" her ribs, but she is still chatting up a storm and so I advised her to call 911 if she really starts to feel worse. Busted/ cracked/ bruised ribs are the worst so there is nothing that I can really do. She is really a bit off and I am one of the few people that will listen to her. She had a head injury on top of everything and can be quite something!

Beautiful fall weather here! Cooler, and less humid. Been pretty busy, so far one apple pie, one Apple Crumb coffee cake, Applesauce, Applebutter and Aplle Pie filling. And I Still have apples left over.....

G'mornin. Sounds like you have everything in apple pie order, Miss Wiggles!

Pouring rain here - we got at least an inch overnight. Apparently, a tropical storm isn't enough for me to deal with, I have a lame horse. Sunny has very thin soles on her feet, and it looks like she may have stepped on something. I have her confined to her stall so Latte won't bully her - Latte just got over being lame herself - though in her case, it seemed to have been a sprain/strain sort of injury.

Scott, are you drying out ?

Sir Sour, Thanks for asking, as of 2100 my rain gauges only had just a bit over 3 inches in them. I emptied them last night before this rain event started.
Those weather people are mumbling something about the rain getting done with about sunup or before so I will dry out in a day or two.
Bunny might need a pumper-truck to help dry out her horse pens.
The same weather people also said something crazy about the remains of Hermine sitting and just spinning around off of the East coast for a couple of days or so and beating up the Jersey area?
Scott (Apple anything sounds real good to me!)

Yeah, even the official rain gauge at the airport has registered over 7", I think we've had at least 10 in our yard so far. I had to rescue a chicken that got stranded when the rabbitry flooded - I think he went in there to get out of the rain and got cornered by the rising water. He's a Serama, so he hasn't got a lot of clearance.
