Stopping by the cafe to see what's for lunch -- any specials I need to hear about????

Been absent for a while, we set out for our Oregon Trail adventure the 25th of July, survived the journey and arrived at my sister's place late on the 28th .......spent a few weeks house hunting and have been in our new home for just at two weeks today, it's been a whirlwind that's for sure. Things have finally settled down enough that I have a little free time on my hands again, I'm sure BYC can take care of that for me.

Missed the cafe - going to have to go back and try to catch up on what's been going on.

Good morning everyone. Had a beautiful weekend here, family came for a visit and we made a trip to the fair. Woke up this morning to thunder and the threat of rain.

Made a fantastic cake yesterday, Chocolate Stout cake with Malted buttercream. I don't usually make cakes, because I don't really like cake, but DH asked for this one... I used a chocolate flavored beer for the cake and the frosting has malted milk powder in it. It was surprisingly good.
