BYC Café

Good Morning and Thanks for starting our coffee.
I am having a slow morning here.
Scott

Is that sort of thing catching ? I, too, am having trouble engaging the clutch on life's endeavors = as in I really have a case of the dragarse this morning.

Good morning, Cafe.

So I posted pics of the 3 boys that are at my folks' house, but there is one more gelding that is out for training, a paint named Rooster. You saw the other three. They all have the M standing Z on the right shoulder, but Peanut's brand has finally healed over completely and since he's in his twenties now I doubt he will get rebranded.

Yes, they are orb-weavers and build a pretty big circular web and will stay in one spot if they are not disturbed and catch enough insects. They are fun to watch. Mine is a fairly bright yellow. :)

I've got 2 dogs, so all the small critters get chased off. Chipmunks are adorable though, but I wouldn't want them stealing my chicken food. LOL

We've had a few toads, which I love to watch, but I think the dogs have discouraged them from hanging out here as much as I'd like.

Hope your broody breaks!

Wow that's awesome! They sound really cool!

And well, we have a big dog but he's lazy and sleeps all day so we have a lot of critters LOL he does freak over squirrels but they know he's inside. When he's outside and sees them he loves to chase them but he's on a long rope since our yard isn't fenced so usually just opening the door and hooking him up tends to startle them and they get a headstart so he doesn't catch them. Plus i think they know his rope only goes so far.

Plus the chipmunk is in the front garden and he never really goes there so yeah.

And aw that stinks. Gator tried eat/paw him a few times and scared him back behind the steps but we tried to discourage it so eventually he just left it alone. Or the toad would hide then come back out when he came in lol

And thanks! Thankfully it looks like all the Orpingtons are out this morning so it seems like she's forgotten all about it!!

I'm glad because I'd read stories or really mean or really hard to break broodies and about wire cages and stuff lol

I think maybe she was more easy going because it was her first time and she might be a bit confused/unsure?

She's not even a year yet, she will be October 26th.

She was so gentle and nice. I mean I just picked her up and talked to her and put her on the roof. She flew off and quietly protested for a little while, while I talked to her, then went back on the nest later. I just went out well after dark this time and picked her up again, put her on the roof, and turned off the deck light, and she stayed all night that time and seems to have forgotten all about it this morning. Easy peasy. Lol

She's a good girl.

"You know, maybe I don't want kids after all, Mom"

Morning! Couple of strong pots are brewing. I am finally getting the sheep hay today. All things have come together for a nice time with that and then Monday is the other eye and then a few more small projects before the snow hits, whenever that might be.

Tryin' to go caffeine-free today (don't know if I'll succeed) but thanks, anyway.

Don't get blown away, Margie, and don't get hurt! I swear, the first thing that happens on a windy day is the wind goes in one of a horse's ears and blows its brain out the other one!

sorry you are under the weather, Scott. There are some nasty bugs making the rounds now. Hope you feel better soon!
