Snake fries up nice. It's like bony chicken. Lots of ribs. My dad shovels and beheads any rattlesnake within a half mile of the house, because that's too close, but beyond that he lets them alone, because they eat mice.

I do not like the taste of raccoon and have never had the courage to try opossum - skinned too many as a kid - the sickening sweet smell still lingers in my memory.

'possum do smell don't they. Come to think on it, GrandDad never brought any coon or 'possum home.
