BYC Café

Morning! Yes on the hot coffee and eggs. No sweets just yet. It is single digits this AM and I am finished with the year's firewood deliveries. It is tough catching up when you lose three weeks of great weather to get stuff done, but yesterday AM was the last window of 30 degree warm so I hauled out a cord and drug the splitter over to an older neighbor's house that needed this year's burnable split and after about a thousand pulls, the splitter decided to fire up in the snowstorm, after being so cold this past week, and DS@'s girlfriend and I busted it out in an hour and then with the temps starting to plummet, headed off to do some shopping in Estes Park and we just had to visit one of the multiple candy shops for toffee and fudge. Are you tired yet..... LOL! We also got dinner over there and that was nice too. By the time I got my kiddo from his ride, it was 4 degrees and windy. He wore his winter coat today and no shorts, btw. Lows of -6 and wind chills of -25 are in the forecast until Friday or so. So now that you feel better about your 40 degree rain, I think I can get on with my day and drink hot coffee and bring in more firewood from our stack.

OH yay! Breakfast! I love breakfast, when I don't have to make it!

More baking today, still working on the tree, I should really count how many ornaments I have, because this is taking forever!

Here's yesterday's project.

Hi guys can I join you again
frow.gif
- lost it completely for a while - losing your entire family is not fun and takes time to stop cooking massive meals every night. The chickens have been eating really really well! and are a bit fat, actually very fat.

I have the builders in at the mo revamping my whole house, my dogs, and cats are hating it. I just hope they finish before they knock off for Christmas.

It is very hot here and we have terrible thunderstorms at night the lightening drives the dogs into a frenzy.

I have a problem with my one chook she can't lay hard eggs and wont leave the nest. I got calcium from the vet to put in the water but still she lays soft shells. I am not sure how to help her does anyone have any ideas? please

Whoop Whoop so very happy to hear from you.

Wish I could offer a remedy for your hen- some aren't able to utilize calcium. Hopefully you can find some help at "Chicken behaviors and egglaying."

I have missed you so much

I will check the behaviour egg laying thread

More thunderstorms today my swimming pool is looking like a garden feature. I had to give Henry my roo to the vet, he is keeping him as a 'vet pet' He turned so vicious think because he was bantam small and had issues!

I am getting some more Seabrights because they are so beautiful when their tails fan out. Collecting Monday and can't wait.

You all have a wonderful day.
