We only got a "covering" of snow when it did snow here. But it was entertaining to go outside and watch my dog wander around in her new white territory.
I tried eating the snow, and usually its fine if I didn't pick it up from a dirty place like the ground or a dumpster, but for some reason this small chunk of snow had a plant in it, so I had some vegetables and water for breakfeast.

I'm strange.

Dad and I have a deal this year. He pays for seed, starting trays and fencing, I provide the space and labor, we split the veggies.

Oh he will be, as well as working in our shop which is now full of his tools.

Gives him a place to get away from my mother.

Friday, sounds like a great set up for everyone!

Bunny, we found a mushroom that looked like that, years ago. Except it was growing out of a pot of flowers. Got a lot of laughs out of it. I wonder if I still have the photo, really gross.

Dd, that's a pine strobilus ("pollen cone"). The yellow stuff on the snow is the pollen that has leaked out. That's the only saving grace of all this precipitation; it stops the pollen from getting blown around on the wind.

I spent nearly 2 hours in 20 degree weather shoveling out the street to my neighbors driveway, and my driveway full length and width. Only about 3.5 inches of snow but, most of winter has not had snow. I needed the exercise dearly. Then I napped. When I got up, the sun had melted every vestige of snow (except on lawn) The neighbors always look at me like I am stark, raving mad. NO but, I love to shovel snow when there is no rush.
