Mornin' friends, been MIA for a couple days but all caught up now.
That puppy! You're killing me with cuteness!
Unfortunately, I am in the middle of the mess of a blizzard here in Massachusetts and to make matters worse my first chicks shipped out yesterday from Meyers. I was hoping they would arrive this morning but so far nothing. My post office gets their deliveries at 5:15am and 7:30am and its almost 9:00am now so it looks like it will be at least another day. REally worried with this blizzard and all and I hope my 16 chickie babies make it.
Love all the garden talk. My dh makes a very small garden each year and Im trying to convince him to go big this year. He just bought bee frames so he might be focusing his efforts on that this year instead. But now I'm craving fresh peas!
We are all snug as a bug for the storm. I'm watching my sisters dog while she is in europe for 10 days so we have the snake, the two fish bowls, three dogs and I was hoping for 16 chickens but hopefully tomorrow all cozy and waiting out the storm. But you betcha if the post office calls I'll be braving the snow and wind to pick up my chicks.
Have a great day all and thanks for the coffee<3
Oh I hope the chicks are ok! I was feeling left out with all the first timers chicks coming in; but at least the April pick up will be safe weather wise.
I want bees as well, you'll have to tell us how it goes!
Sounds like a full house!
hoping for the best for you chicks........
our garden this year will be mostly raised beds. I cam across a deal last year, for retaining wall blocks, and used those to build 5 raised beds, that are about 3.5'x8' long......I already had built two 4'x4' raised beds, and two 4'x8' raised beds from rough cut 2"x6" cedar, plus the four tire planters in the greenhouse and six of the large plastic mineral tubs for cattle......
the only thing I will be putting in the ground this year, will be three different types of okra, and a first for us, kikinda gourds.
right now, have all of the raised beds growing bush and pole beans and pickling, and eating cukes, and the squash are in the mineral tubs.
this weekend, I will build a gourd tunnel, for the kikinda's, and plant them.....provided the weather cooperates.
we got lucky this year, I hope, with a mild winter, and early spring......oh yeah, need to get my trellises up for all the cukes and pole beans.
dangit, need to finish a new raised bed, built from salvaged cinder blocks, concrete n the holes, dirt and compost to fill, this one is 5'x8'.
howdy Friday.
@sourland I hear ya about the snow, the garden talk is to keep my mind off it!Dad and I have a deal this year. He pays for seed, starting trays and fencing, I provide the space and labor, we split the veggies.
Perfect. Have you decided on seeds yet?
@MissWiggles Glad the vet visit went well!
