We saw the first half of 93% and then the clouds came. It was very cool.

We had high, thin clouds here. For the most part, though the light was odd, it wasn't darker than it often gets during a thunderstorm. Most of the time, the sun just looked like a brighter spot in the middle of a bright spot in a cloud, though my son managed to get a few pictures with his phone that show part of the disk obscured. One of the oddest things I noticed was this:

(The sun is just out of the frame). I'm so used to clouds and contrails being so dazzlingly white and bright and two-dimensional looking; with the lower light level, the sun made the contrail cast a shadow on the cloud and it just looked so weird!

That Contrail shadow is something to see!!
