Just came in from outside to cool off and get more water. It is cloudy here. Painting and cutting boards for the divider in the coop.

Clouds broke partially and allowed us to safely see the eclipse filtered through the cloud cover.

We saw the first half of 93% and then the clouds came. It was very cool.

It was like that here, too. Was able to watch most of it with only sunglasses since the clouds acted like a filter. I think we were around 75%.

We had high, thin clouds here. For the most part, though the light was odd, it wasn't darker than it often gets during a thunderstorm. Most of the time, the sun just looked like a brighter spot in the middle of a bright spot in a cloud, though my son managed to get a few pictures with his phone that show part of the disk obscured. One of the oddest things I noticed was this:

(The sun is just out of the frame). I'm so used to clouds and contrails being so dazzlingly white and bright and two-dimensional looking; with the lower light level, the sun made the contrail cast a shadow on the cloud and it just looked so weird!
