The range map says they are in Massachusetts. They look like black birds

I don't go outside that much hah or maybe in another part of MA

Speaking of birds, they had a bird of prey segment at The Royal. It was neat; lovely to see large birds. The presenter was very good and charismatic

I love birds of prey lol

Omg those things are all over the place in Ontario. I haven't seen them in Alberta so I think their habitat stops even further east than the Rockies.
My mother, being the dimwit that she was, called them starlings. Didn't learn the difference until I was in my 40s.

LOL wow

when they are far away from my poultry....yes.

Agreed lol

Like to watch them from a distance. But, I recall finding a beheaded cardinal on the ground with a bunch of red feathers. Dirty trick, the hawk was sitting on a telephone pole waiting for birds coming to the feeder. I took the feeder down, no more lazy raptor meals on my watch.

They say certain species do that anyway but I say it's lazy of them and I agree with your decision of not helping them ha we haven't really had that happen here but I haven't filled the feeders in a while but they also have a lot of other hunting ground, like cranberry bogs, woods/forest, and a pond/meadow/marsh area so probably plenty of mice and stuff or maybe they eat the song birds there. We also have a ton of rabbits and really big hawks. I think maybe they eat rabbits? And also, and I think maybe most importantly, the feeder is in a very sheltered spot. It's hanging from a tree so kind of in the branches and in the front garden/next to the house in either of the two places I usually have it, especially one in particular, there are tons of other little bushes and shrubs for them to get away and hide in rapidly. And the tight space probably makes it hard for a hawk. They do like to harass my chickens though
