It's been so cold here that the lakes are so frozen that people are ice fishing and snowmobiling on them. That's crazy for November.

It is supposed to hit 29 degrees tonight. My veggies are covered. I am getting close to finishing up the solar water heater!

Enjoyed a great sunset today on Cudjoe bay. DSIL caught a big mangrove snapper earlier, and he and DD2 are out in the dock trying to catch more.

Beautiful photo Friday! What are the conditions like down there on Cudjoe? Are things getting back to normal?

They are getting better, but signs of hurricane damage are everywhere. A1A is lined with grand piles of trash waiting to be trucked to the mainland, some canals are still blocked with sunken boats and debris, lots of signs broken and awnings ripped. But other areas have been restored, relandscaped, and repaired. The newer houses came through pretty well, but total devastation in the trailer/mobile home parks.

Although sad, it's also very interesting to see. The palms are beat up, but already putting on new growth. It will be fun to see how much the area recovers in the next year or two.
