BYC Café

Oh I love ya lady! Staryucks is right.

:highfive:

They burn the beans. And charge outrageous amounts of money for syrupy messes they pass off as coffee. But I do think their Marketing department has probably earned every penny...they've done a great job convincing people it's THE place to go.

Give me a little indie shop any day.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people WANT those syrupy messes  there’s people that put like 16 flavor shots (or more) in the coffee and then sometimes multiple syrups too, whipped cream, etc. etc. from what I’ve heard. Plus of course the soy milk and all the other junk so by the time they are done, there is barely even any coffee in it. And tbh they probably don’t even notice the burnt beans :sick that said, Dunkin Donuts is also usually burnt. Basically just burnt water lol but at least it is far cheaper. But I don’t drink coffee anyway, just what I’ve heard. Sadly, I don’t think people want the coffee, just the caffeine (although at that point it’s basically just a sugar high rather than caffeine boost. Wonder if you could do an experiment and try the same exact thing with coffee and without and see if there’s a placebo effect.:oops: There probably is. Sugar high would likely do the same thing.)

I think there is some truth in this. I make coffee from beans and serve it very strong and black. I've had visitors ask for coffee and been unable to drink what I make.
It's a bit like chocolate. Give someone proper chocolate and many won't eat it.
