Lovely, sunny Saturday morning here - chance of rain tonight and tomorrow. I imagine y'all are about as tired of hearing me moan about the flood outside my back door as I am of looking at it, but I think I'm beginning to understand why it's there. Hubby was just poking around on the National Weather Service site, and he came across the rainfall statistics. Seems that in the last 6 months, we have had almost twice as much rain as normal; in the last two months, it's been more than 3x the usual amount. Normally, things are rather dry at this time of year; on average, we could expect about 8" of rain to fall during the last 60 days. We have had over 26" - and that's rain, folks, not snow!

(Incidentally, Hubby and I are convinced that the rain gauge at the airport is under the eaves of their building, since the "official" totals are never even close to what back yard gauges less than a mile away measure. If the airport registered over two feet, I'm thinking we have had closer to four feet in our yard)

Just started raining here. At least I'm at camp so I can listen to it on the tin roof. Got a fire in the wood stove.... Its like 88 degrees in here lol. Best sleep inducer in the world!
