I shop at the Salvation Army thrift stores here in the States. Last month I got a very warm wool coat for $5. It looked new and that style sells for over $175 in stores. Not a bad deal.
Second hand shops don't feature around here. I would have to go into Barcelona for something like that.
When I go to England one of my essential stops is a army surplus/camping store near where I used to live. I've had some great stuff out of this shop. Last time I was there I bought three pairs of combat trousers, really well made heavyweight and they've just coped with everything here.

We don't have any second hand type shops around here either, the closest would be a 4 hour car ride.

DH has found some things he likes at the army surplus stores we've been too.

I've got some good clothes from another life which I just don't wear anymore but can't bear to throw out. Totally impractical for my current circumstances.
Work type clothes, I just abuse. If they're not made well they're in tatters within weeks.

Good grief! both my competition articles are in the featured section now.
Looking at the Members Articles section, they have both received the most reviews and are on the first page for rating!:celebrate
Yes, I am pleased. The whole point of writing such articles is for them to be read.
