It's all gone funky here. Two more dogs have been shot.
The Park Wardens have told the farms there will be no prosecutions for shooting stray dogs.
I think everyone here has just had enough of it.
One of the dog owners has been arrested the police are waiting to arrest two others.
Over the last few years there has been an influx of people who have bought old farmhouse properties here and decided to start 'hobby farms', a bit like the people I look after the animals for.
It doesn't take them long to find out that animal keeping isn't something you can do as a hobby.
You need to be there, day in day out.
I've had some of these people come by and ask if I would sell them chickens.
They look at me like I'm mad when I tell them I don't buy, or sell life.

Had the police up the mountain today with Park Wardens. Apparently 5 domestic dogs have been shot. I've been told that a number of houses used mainly at the weekend have dogs that just roam around. A few of the farms have had sheep attacked and chickens and ducks killed. They spoke to the owners and asked them to control their dogs but they didn't get listend to and one farmer got hit with a stick from one of the dog owners. At the moment it seems higher up the mountain if a dog is seen off the lead and on farm property its shoot on sight.

Not liking it, but losing animals gets old fast.

I came in hoping for bagels & maybe a little left over cake, but seems the café is only serving exotic food today. I hope the grasshoppers are at least covered in chocolate.

We have plenty of cake available!!! Including two brand new untouched ones and one that’s like half eaten but still plenty left. Two just purchased yesterday and the tiny one I just got a few hours ago. And no, it is not week old cake leftover from my birthday my mom’s birthday was yesterday and my dad originally got the fruit cake one as it is apparently the best one they had according to the lady but she doesn’t like that kind and had originally sent him for a plain gold cake with white frosting and he came back with that thing. So then he went and got the other one. And then I wanted cake but we are saving the big one I think and also I like the Market Basket cakes a lot, we had one for my birthday, so I got one when I got lunch today lol half for her birthday and half for me. Figured I’d get a small one now and get a bigger one when we have cake later in the week or we can just eat the other one we have from elsewhere. Anyway, the fruit one is actually quite good. Has some sort of cream or filling or something almost like Boston cream but not, idk, and light and airy and has strawberries and peaches inside it. And it originally had a strawberry and pear slice on top but we ate it lol it is quite good but it does have a lot of “stuff” on it and def not what she likes. Not that she didn’t appreciate it but it is her day and the stores are only like 2 minutes from us anyway (except Market Basket), otherwise I am sure she would have just eaten it. Oh well, more for us lol and I was actually supposed to get it but then I forgot.
