BYC Café

Morning!
"We found out she went grocery shopping, bought a steak, a bottle of wine, some charcoal and had herself a bbq." That doesn't sound like dementia, that sounds like a dang good plan! LOL!
DL, you know the saying," When you know one person with AD, then you know one person with AD."
Fingers crossed for the trial and it is just one day at a time. HUGS! :hugs

Thanks for the coffee! I was a slacker and did not touch a piece of firewood yesterday, so I guess I will make up for it today. DH cleaned the chicken coop for me and I have two hens that are brooding.
This year, DH knows more of what is going on with them and they are also on the other side of the coop from the normal egg laying business so I am guessing we should be good with no bad eggs coming into the house. That was such a cluster!
High near 80F again and then cooling off with rain, tomorrow in the 60's. Enjoy the day and have a wonderful one!
Morning Margie
Enjoy your day!

You know Meg, I was thinking about you when I was complaining...my mother makes me feel like doing this View attachment 1862210but I do love her. She hurts my feelers and it's hard not to View attachment 1862211sometimes.

Congratulations on your anniversary! I hope you can enjoy a swim after work. Drink a beer for me wouldya?

I hope you guys are safe from the fires! I remember sitting with in laws watching a fire work its way down a hill toward their home in CA many years ago...it never made it to their neighborhood but man does it move it quick!
I know what you mean. Family can be a bummer sometimes. I hope you guys figure it out :hugs

We're good now! They got the one out up by the cows. My husband got some good video of the heli dipping out of a pond up there. They certainly do move fast! And thank you!

Happy anniversary to you and DH, Meg!!

I can completely understand how you feel about your ma as I feel the same about my dad but I lost him over 1 1/2 years ago. The pain is dulling but it's still sharp and not a day has gone past that I haven't thought of him. Losing him is what really knocked me for a loop and sent everything off the tracks for me. That silly coop/run build was, for me, something of a symbol of me getting my mind and spirit back on track and happy again. I like building. I liked sharing that with my dad. I think he would have gotten a major charge out of the chickens and that whole ordeal getting coop project done.

Now my mother... Roomy's description of her's is my mother, spot on!

I hate hearing about the fires that burn out west. I hope you all stay safe.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad, Tonya. It's crazy how much you have to change around in your mind when they're gone. I love your coop and run build and I bet your pa would be very proud of it! You seem like you are in higher spirits as of late and that's fantastic. :hugs

Happy Anniversary Meg I understand it has been longer since I lost my Ma still miss her awful.. We have had fires Easter side pretty scary hope your cattle are safe
Thank you, Penny! I'm sorry about your Ma. I appreciate you guys sharing about your families and lost loved ones. Makes it not quite so lonely when other people understand. I hope the fires stay away from you!

I know Scotland is part of the UK, but dang it man, you're Scottish! (I am partially, from the MacDonald clan in Ayr.)

I KNEW we were related woman...I believe we even have the same mother.

Congratulations Meg on your anniversary! Hope you're doing something fun to celebrate.
Thanks, Debby! Took a drive up to check on a different set of cows. Beautiful night out. I got a great picture of a milk-face calf up there. Will share when I get a chance!

A belated good morning, Café.

@DobieLover, first of all :hugs and then :clap - you ROCK. Both of my BIL suffered with dementia. One faded gently into wherever we eventually go, and the other not so gently but managed to be kept at home until the end. Every individual is different, and the longer we live hopefully the better the treatment. Hoping for the best for your husband.
