See I don't understand this our argument here always ends with ... Why cant you lift the seat when you are done?
Sadly I have no answer for that.

In a house, with majority males your argument is valid. But where women out number men, we shouldn't need to tolerate your laziness ;) And in houses with equal numbers, you just need to ask yourself if it is really something you want to fight on, will you win? Finally though your argument is good in households that do have more men then women, the argument is then your wife is trying to raise little gentlemen, and part of being a Gentleman is ensuring a lady does not fall into the toilet :D

Hmm
Why are we still raising little Gentlemen if we are also raising independent feminist little ladies?
Seems unbalanced.

In my house boys and girls were taught to respect those who respect them.

words any married man should live by.

do you want to be right?

or do you want to be happy?

personally, the toilet seat isn't something I feel a need to make argument with.

Yes, This.
Mutual respect. Take advantage of no one and let no one take advantage of you.

Oh I am happily raising little feminist. They will be farmers, hopefully, raised that way anyway. They will be able to jerryrig the tractor in the field, back a trailer like a pro, and pull a calf when nessisary (bloody, sad, work). But I do not subscribe to that, men holding a door open is insulting nonsense. Men can be raised Gentalmen, women can be raised independent, and coexist quite happily.

Well, I read your words, but I will continue helping my wife with her coat, and chair and opening doors for her. Is she a pushover or less than me? Hell no! She is far more than my equal, but I was raised to respect others. Yep, I open the door for men and children too. It's called respect.
