Morning Cafe
Dobie, you mentioned 'maple coffee' in a post yesterday. Is that something you put together or are the beans flavored?
Sour, congrats on completing the trials!
Good morning Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee. I brewed a pot of the maple coffee on the side and left a small dispenser of my extra thick pure maple syrup if anyone wants to give it a try.
My walkway project was going really well. I needed two loads of fill and one of pea stone and had about 3.5 hours to get it. I was in the truck on my way back to the gravel pit with 12 minutes to get there before the gate closed. There is a sign stating they won't let you on the scale past 10 minutes before closing. So I called the woman who was running the scales and told her who I was and that I was already tared in and was self serving under the pea stone hopper and would you please hold the gate for me. She did. I was in the office 5 minutes after closing. I told her how thankful I was for her waiting for me and gave her a $5 tip. She had a pleasantly surprised look on her face and said "You didn't have to do that" and I said "You didn't either".
Once home, I took a quick shower and we headed off to the Apple Dumping Cafe for brunch. The phone GPS display read "the Apple Dumpling Cafe may be closed on your arrival". So I did a little Indy 500 driving and got us there about 10 before they stopped serving. The place was packed but they let us in. The food was incredible. I haven't eaten bread in over 1.5 years. The bread there is made from scratch and baked fresh. I had an open face apple and cheese sandwich and DH had a fresh BLT on toasted bread. We shared each others plates. It was a beautiful day.
Then I went for the plate compactor. They are open until 5:00 on Saturdays. I arrived at 4:45. The neon "OPEN" sign in the door was on. The lady was at the counter. I told her "I need that plate compactor I rented last week". She said "We're closed". I said "but you're right here, the sign says you're open, your website says your open..." She told me all the guys left at 4:30 and the plate compactors were out that day and hadn't been serviced yet. I couldn't believe it. I had no choice but to leave. DH has hernias and she looked like a very unfit late 60's woman who doesn't see a lot of activity. So I am going to be scrambling to try to get the walkway finished on Thursday. Weather permitting.
About two weeks! Funny story, turns out she wasn't missing at allHow long has the calf been missing Meg?
Thanks, Debby! We found the little bugger. Is it going to get warm enough for the snow to melt off or will it stick around?Morning Cafe
Sounds like the chickens are enjoying their bug buffet Shad. Thanks for the coffee!
Meg, what a beautiful area you're in! Hope you find that calf.
We got about an 1" of snow here last night. Sure am glad I got errands done yesterday.
I haven't either, Roomy! Even my husband talks about him quite a bit and he's not really a chicken person. Wish I knew a little more about genetics, it would be fun to see what kind of colors you could get out of himWOW!He's incredibly handsome!
I've never seen a bird like him.
Thanks, Debby! We found the little bugger. Is it going to get warm enough for the snow to melt off or will it stick around?
