It's pretty serious here. The only realistic option is to cut the tree down, take the stump out and make a fire pit in the hole. Some pine species seem to fare better than others.
The pine trees are not much good for the chickens because there are not many low branches. They tend to grow and give canopy cover mostly. The really annoying thing is nobody wants the wood.

Yeah, we just make bonfires with pine wood and brush.

The Japanese beetles are insane at my house! They killed my gardens i gave up on gardening because of it.

I hate those things, just pick them off and smush them. Dad used to give me a tin can with gas in the bottom and I used to knock them into it when i was a kid. Got a penny apiece bounty!

I never drink any coffee. Maybe that's why I feel lazy.

I have used several things to try to keep them away. I tried those Japanese beetle bags, that just made a million more come into my yard.

I tried sprays that are supposed to keep them away, they never worked.

I sprayed my lawn to get rid of them before they turn to beetles, that never worked.

Now I have ducks that eat the grubs and beetles, but they don't have full access to all of the lawn.

There are orchard versions of this stuff but likely is not necessary for your place.

It would likely help with a garden plot though

Got the coops clean silkie in their tractor for the day we move it easy lift walk a few 2 x 4 but mostly metal conduit nice size easy to move wheels best price free.. made cranberries this morning now in the fridge in bowl baking powder biscuits and the rest will be tomorrow

I named Tribe 2's chicks tonight. They were on the roost with the adults when I looked in.
They are called Rivet and Lock.
Got to think of some names for Mel's three now.
