BYC Café

I'll admit that I was concerned. We try not to travel this time of year because of the weather. This person lives a short distance from us, and could access the house on foot if necessary.

Yikes!!! I would not want anyone's kids interacting with my dogs without me there. We would never allow kids in the kennel! Some dogs are not comfortable around kids....some kids are not comfortable around dogs....so many very bad things can happen! no no no no....
sorry...but I feel strongly about that. Not all kids are respectful of dogs.
I worked in a dog kennel when I was in high school and I would say that everyone enjoyed me interacting with their dogs. I am someone that would spend my entire day in the kennel even if I had already cleaned it just so that I could spend time with the dogs. I would sit right on the concrete floor with them and hang out with them.

I also was helping the woman who did training and she taught me a lot. I also help the groomer as well and learned a lot from her.

Basically growing up I wanted to be a vet technician and run my own dog kennel So everything that I did for jobs or what not growing up had to do with animals. I got to work as a vet technician after I passed certain tests for the veterinarian that I was working for. I did several college courses as well that my school paid for to Be a vet technician and business owner.

Unfortunately at 22 I became very ill so my dreams were shot down... Kind of

I'm still thinking about running a sanctuary for abused or neglected farm animals or pets. So far we have kept it very small with what and how we are rescuing because we only have limited space where we are right now, but we do plan on moving in the future. So far we have rescued three dogs, a rooster, and a bearded dragon.

That sounds good. Will they be kenneled together? When I leave my three they stay in the same kennel (8 x 10)
Yes they will be kenneled together and they are going to be in a 20 by 30 kennel. It's indoor and outdoor. Air conditioned and nice beds. I'm bringing my own food and they said that we could bring balls with us.

Good morning Café. Was glad to find on our return that the new animal caretaker did a great job. :yesss: The woman who has cared for my animals for 30+ years retired and moved to Fla. Think the new person is going to do just fine.

Glad to hear all went well with the new caretaker Sour!

Not on my short list - thanks for the heads up. Two of my grand children are adopted from China. Part of the adoption process includes a two week stay in the country. My son and DIL were toured through one of the wet markets. Totally freaked my DIL out to the point that she did not travel to China for the second adoption.
