Not on my short list - thanks for the heads up. Two of my grand children are adopted from China. Part of the adoption process includes a two week stay in the country. My son and DIL were toured through one of the wet markets. Totally freaked my DIL out to the point that she did not travel to China for the second adoption.
Your son and daughter-in-law are amazing for giving these children a life that they probably would have never had. I couldn't imagine what she saw there because I have heard stories from others who have traveled there.

Good morning everyone. Tired after my marathon shopping trip!
Where did you guys go shopping yesterday I forgot to ask you that? Did you guys get anything good?

I went shopping yesterday online on tractor supply 😂 ask my husband all about it because there was no room left in the car when he got home from there 😂 I got tons of goods.

Yikes!!! I would not want anyone's kids interacting with my dogs without me there. We would never allow kids in the kennel! Some dogs are not comfortable around kids....some kids are not comfortable around dogs....so many very bad things can happen! no no no no....
sorry...but I feel strongly about that. Not all kids are respectful of dogs.

Nah it’s okay I totally agree haha I don’t think it happens very often either but I have heard of it a few times where the teenage children help. I don’t think it’s ever like little little kids unsupervised but I know sometimes teenagers help up but might not want to. Personally I would want to know exactly who was taking care of my dogs. I get sometimes the owner may be busy or whatever but tell me who might be taking care of them if they can’t aha

I worked in a dog kennel when I was in high school and I would say that everyone enjoyed me interacting with their dogs. I am someone that would spend my entire day in the kennel even if I had already cleaned it just so that I could spend time with the dogs. I would sit right on the concrete floor with them and hang out with them.

I also was helping the woman who did training and she taught me a lot. I also help the groomer as well and learned a lot from her.

Basically growing up I wanted to be a vet technician and run my own dog kennel So everything that I did for jobs or what not growing up had to do with animals. I got to work as a vet technician after I passed certain tests for the veterinarian that I was working for. I did several college courses as well that my school paid for to Be a vet technician and business owner.

Unfortunately at 22 I became very ill so my dreams were shot down... Kind of

I'm still thinking about running a sanctuary for abused or neglected farm animals or pets. So far we have kept it very small with what and how we are rescuing because we only have limited space where we are right now, but we do plan on moving in the future. So far we have rescued three dogs, a rooster, and a bearded dragon.
I'm sure those were wonderful experiences for you and it sounds like you were able to contribute in positive ways. I would have loved that too when I was in high school. But looking at it from a boarding facility's point of view.....the liability is a heavy consideration. What if a dog had bitten you? What if you had caused injury (accidentally, of course) to a dog? These are the things law suits are made of! A young, inexperienced person coming in from high school...interacting with dogs under our care without direct supervision.....it's just not worth the chance to us. Sorry your dream was sidetracked....it happens to most of us. B You love animals and I'm sure you will find a way to express that and contribute to their welfare! My best to you.

I’m sure they probably make them sign something and only hire older teenagers and usually most boarding places make the owners sign something too saying the kennel is not liable for anything that happens

I wouldn't enjoy visiting a wet market!! I've just been reading that their current virus likely originated in a wet market since live and butchered animals are in such close proximity.
