BYC Café

I honestly wouldn't care about the $50 especially if it was for a furever friend. I've paid for dogs that needed extensive medical care after I purchased them, but it was worth it to get my precious fur babies.

I do understand that some people adopt animals and are strapped for money when they get the animal.
We're no longer are going to adopt from shelters due to expenses, & broken promises. For now on we're going to take in free to good home animals.

That's a good idea. That's how I got my beagle. Honestly I would ensure you have up to $500 saved up and bring the animals INSTANTLY to the vet. Getting a free animal isn't going to save you any money in the long run.

Sorry for the interruption folks, I cleaned up a few posts, deleted a few others, all a bit religious in nature. We are not against anyone's religion however religious talk is quite controversial. There are so many beliefs, so many cultures, talking about what we believe will only cause conflict here on BYC. We want this place to be a comfortable place for all cultures, colors and religions. Pushing what we feel on others is not what religion is all about.

Thank you all for your understanding, please carry on as usual. The BYC Cafe can still be a wonderful place for your morning coffee!!

Saving up that much money is gonna be a struggle now since my monthly payment has been cut off, & I can't work due to a disability.

Then I wouldnt rescue animals. There's a lot of requirements you have a responsibility for when you own an animal. Vet bills (annual exams, shots, neuter), feed, and emergency vet visits.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything by saying this, but I have seen disasters when I worked at a vet. Most of the time it was someone getting free animals and they had an existing condition the previous owners didn't disclose.

There are a lot of dishonest people in this world and it would be the ones you least expect.

I understand all of this, & we're just the same as most people who can't afford most of that stuff, but we do a pretty good job at keeping them healthy. We only had one health scare with our dogs, they contracted ParvoVirus, & we cured them up with bland food, yogurt for Probiotics, & plenty of water. It took a couple weeks, but we fixed them up. Only one dog was vaccinated, but it doesn't have a 100% success rate anyways, only like 45% - 50% success rate.

I would get them checked for parvo because it doesn't just go away with bland food, yogurt, and water. They need antibiotics to treat the infection plus sometimes they need plasma transfusions.
