The air bags went off. The only one in the car not injured was the cat. DH had a bruise across him from the seat belt. My little red Dobie ended up in the front of the car with a gash on her muzzle. My fawn girl had an abrasion on her back and my black male had a cut on his face. I'm sure they were bruised too.
I guess I took the brunt of it and ended up being carted off to the hospital strapped to a board because my neck started to hurt. (I'd taken a glancing blow head on collision with a different 81 year man who was driving down the wrong side of a divided high way. That totaled my truck and gave me whip lash.) My neck was aggravated in the Prius accident. I was also picking windshield glass out of my scalp the entire vacation in Cape Cod. The left side of my body was bruised up because of the impact. The drivers door couldn't be opened. The luggage on the roof of the car was hurled into the road and the two bikes on the back were a twisted mess.
We had to rent a vehicle to get us to Cape Cod. After we got there, we had to get a new holder for the GPS (back in the day before smart phones took off). When we got to the store, I closed and latched the driver's door... with my fingers between the door and frame. So I got to visit the Cape Cod hospital too. Great place. My fingers were splinted. All in all, a wonderful vacation. You should visit some time!
