BYC Café

I'm quite hopeful that with the coming warmer, sunny weather, that will help fight the virus too. I read an interesting article about the 1918 flu pandemic that basically concluded that the sickest patients healed faster with regular sunshine therapy.
I was reading something about that, as well, and I hope you're right. The article I read was talking about how one city foo-fooed the pandemic and gathered and lost 16,000 people. Pennsylvania, maybe? And the other, told people to not leave home and they lost 2,000. Do you think the social distancing is the way to go?

Well, it would help if people would listen about not gathering in groups!

Sounds pretty sketchy to get pricked by that thing
my dad once stood on a blackthorn and it went through the sole of his shoe and 1" into his foot. They are really hard and very sharp. But as Shad said, the chickens appreciate the cover they provide, and they do look very pretty for a couple of weeks in the year. It's a long time since I've had sloe gin but I think I liked it :p

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. There's an olive loaf on the counter and the last of the Kumquats.
Grey and not particularly inspiring here this morning.
Going into the village later to get some fruit and veg. Don't need much thankfully.
A couple of interesting developments here. I make note of them because I assume what happens in Europe will in time be similar in the US. We watch Italy because they are a bit further ahead.
All the doctors surgeries have closed here. Apparently all the doctors have been allocated to hospitals and of course, not having people sitting around in waiting rooms at the surgeries is probably a good idea. If you need to see a doctor for things like repeat prescriptions now would be a good time to get them.
I am told by an Italian I know and from some Italian blogs that if you have underlying health problems (I don't know which problems and I don't know if age is a factor) and get the virus the Italian hospitals will not treat you. I don't expect this piece of information will be well publicized.

I think social distancing will help a lot but the people who literally will not leave their houses is stupid. Get outside in the sun and fresh air!
