BYC Café

You can't be that far off. Not buying all the cleaning and cosmetic products was a big step forward for me. The truth is I just couldn't afford them. I still shave with a cut throat razor and use aloe vera as a lubricant.Aloe vera (well it isn't strictly, it's some kind of relative that grows here) :D
DobieLover got me looking into the paleo diet business and I've greatly reduced my dairy produce consumption due to that, although beans are still a major part of my diet. I've dumped a lot of the grains except rice.
Those razors are terrifying  And all of those types of items are fairly expensive. At least here. I imagine the aloe cousin is probably good for your skin.

I was pretty happy to get to the point where I no longer have to buy any meat (except fish, of which I eat very little) at the grocery store. That had been one of our goals for a long time. The vegetables will be a big one. I've got all of the canning supplies for water bath, but no pressure canner. I try to pick chokecherries every year for syrup and was making quite a few jams/jellies with a friend of me. That's all back on the project list this year :)

I started looking through my paleo cookbook again after seeing Tonya talk about it. I'd like to get away from processed stuff, maybe not as strict as paleo. Similar to a Mediterranean type. Pretty sure I'll never give up cheese or white potatoes or bread :p

Could be they are described by their color but aren't the same? Brown sugar here has molasses added in. Shad MIGHT be referencing something more like turbinado, less refined than white sugar and unbleached with a small amount of natural molasses.
Ah, that's what I was wondering as well. The raw sugar I referred to earlier was turbinado.

A 2 hour window?? Geez, they keep you waiting even when you aren't in their office. I ASSUME you have to sit by your phone and wait for it to ring?
I have to get up at least half an hour before they call so I am coherent. Tonight I will have to make a list of what I want to talk about.

Raw cane sugar is what it says on the packet.

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Thankfully I've still got a fair bit which I bought before the predator arrived.
Who was so foolish to say humans have no natural predators any more.:lau Nobody mentioned they had to be big to qualify.
A bit grey and cloudy here this morning. Not sure if it's going to rain or not. I'll ask the chickens later.

morning all :frow Thanks for the copy Shad.

Your chickens use toilet roll ⁉
Well, you know Perris, there are chickens and there are chickens.:p Evolution cracks on here.:lau
I have for some years used toilet roll to pick up the chicken shit off the floor in the house.
Apart from the wastefulness of it I changed to a spatula and Oxine soaked mop recently which is more efficient. Cecal shit can still pose a bit of a problem but it's only one in seven on average so......
The wonders of free ranging eh.:lau
