I'm a bulk buyer, as well. That whole not liking to go to town thing :p
Lots of stuff I see people buying I just don't use. I'm not quite sure why. Just got out of the habit I suppose.
I don't use the standard cleaning products. I have a few gallons of Oxine now, before it was plain bleach.
Toilet roll was for the chickens. I don't use it.
Pre made meals. I very rarely eat them. The pizzas were my luxury buy.
I have honey from the bees here for cooking if for example I'm making a sweet curry.
Don't use crisps, don't buy bottles, or cans of pop, or supermarket meat although I do buy frozen fish. Don't buy canned goods anymore.
Basically the food I buy, I buy from local producers. I'm not a very good consumer.
The stuff, as in things I have, are old and I mend rather than trash.

Not interested in most of the social stuff either unless it's something really special or arts and crafts fairs and for me that often means work because I'm trying to sell my woodwork.

You're the kind of consumer that I want to be! One goal is to not buy canned veggies anymore. Mostly tomato based anything because that's what I use most of. Too bad our growing season is so short. Canning and gardening are time consuming processes. Very rewarding, though.

Was it a good night out? Well done the pair of you. You pulled the stops out then.:clap
Ha, yep! We went all in :D It was pretty fun. Mostly nice for the two of us to get out of the house and actually dress up for something. Probably won't go to that particular function again. A chamber of commerce fund raiser that isn't in your own town? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense :p But for the rest of our lives, if someone invites us to a roaring 20's party again, we'll have the attire for it!

I went to a supermarket today. I won't be doing that again until this bit of madness is over.
I bought 5kg of brown rice, 5kg of brown sugar, a couple of Italian pizzas, 3 jars of Sicilian pesto and some chocolate.
Only ten people allowed in the store at a time.
Disinfectant hand wash when you go in and supplied with plastic gloves which you trash on exit. Very weird.
My man down the track has a shed load of wild boar in his freezer and more smoked and dried hanging in his larder. I'm swapping eggs for meat.
Got nisperos ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loquat ) growing here and ripe so there is fruit. The cherries will come on as the nisperos fade; then the tomatoes will be edible so that's vitamin C covered.
Anything else vegetable wise I can barter for, or get in the village from the local growers.
I wish I knew a bit more about herbs for cooking. The other sort are not in short supply around here.:D
Give me a shout when it's all over.
Loquats are my all time favorite fruit.

You can't be that far off. Not buying all the cleaning and cosmetic products was a big step forward for me. The truth is I just couldn't afford them. I still shave with a cut throat razor and use aloe vera as a lubricant.Aloe vera (well it isn't strictly, it's some kind of relative that grows here) :D
DobieLover got me looking into the paleo diet business and I've greatly reduced my dairy produce consumption due to that, although beans are still a major part of my diet. I've dumped a lot of the grains except rice.
